CEO Coaching International Client Waste2Wear Wins Sustainable Business Award from the European Union Chamber of Commerce
S For Story/10440178
MIAMI - s4story -- CEO Coaching International, the leading firm coaching over 300 of the world's top growth-focused entrepreneurs, congratulates its client Monique Maissan, Founder and CEO of Waste2Wear, for being recognized by the European Union Chamber of Commerce with the Sustainable Business Award under the category of Outstanding Environmental and Climate Performance. Maissan and her company earned this prestigious award in recognition of their newly developed and totally traceable woven and non-woven products made from recycled polypropylene.
Commented Maissan, "We want the world to know that we are taking real steps towards reducing the plastic problem by innovating circular alternatives that reduce the carbon footprint, energy consumption and water usage, and improves livelihoods in the process."
Waste2Wear uses polypropylene from discarded appliances such as fridges, car dashboards, food containers, and washing machines, and in the past decade the company has recycled hundreds of millions of plastic bottles into products ranging from floor underlays, curtains, workwear, bags, and high-end fashion products. Waste products are the company's raw material, making them the ultimate model of sustainability. Besides averting plastic from ending up in landfills and in our oceans, the environmental impact of these recycled products also reduces the carbon footprint by 75%, the use of energy by 70%, and water consumption by 86%.

Competing in this category were large multinational companies, so it is extra special that the 11 professional judges selected Waste2Wear, an SME player, as the recipient of the award this year. The recognition is the result of Waste2Wear's true corporate social values along with their tireless dedication and innovation in sustainability that benefits the environment.
"We are thrilled to congratulate our client on this remarkable achievement. Monique is a champion of the environment, a thought leader, and steward of the triple bottom line," said Jacquie Hart, Partner and Coach at CEO Coaching International.
About Waste2Wear
Waste2Wear makes textile product from recycled plastic bottles and combine this with social enterprises and circular economic solutions. Their textiles are used to create uniforms for factory workers, hotels, hospitals, and schools as well as home goods such as curtains, linens, and pillows; they are also widely used by high quality fashion and sportswear brands all over the world. They are also working with multinational corporations, universities, and governments that offers a great number of opportunities to become involved in more than textile production. Through large projects, they focus on finding upstream solutions of reduction of waste and create alternatives to environmental damaging waste which is otherwise burdening landfills and oceans. They comply with the highest level of industry standards for production and have a myriad of certifications to prove their commitment to safety and sustainability. These industry factors, coupled with their social initiatives such as their project in India that aimed to lift women out of poverty, are setting them apart from their competitors and define Waste2Wear as an organization dedicated to people over profits.
