KidsGardening launches 10 fun, hands-on garden challenges to spark creativity and celebrate spring
BURLINGTON, Vt. - s4story -- As the days grow longer and spring blooms to life, KidsGardening is inviting young growers everywhere to dig in, get messy, and let their imaginations blossom with the Kids Garden Month Challenge — a nationwide celebration packed with 10 unique, garden-inspired activities designed just for kids.
Whether it's dreaming up the ultimate backyard garden, planting a pollinator paradise, or sharing veggies with neighbors, each challenge empowers kids to connect with nature, get creative, and grow something meaningful — in gardens big or small.
"Right now I have a garden bed and my dog Raven loves to help me with it! We dig together and plant wildflowers, but I would love my own herb and vegetable garden too so I could share everything I grow!"
— Ember, Dream Garden Challenge entry
For over 40 years, KidsGardening has been at the forefront of the youth gardening movement, helping kids cultivate curiosity, responsibility, and joy through hands-on growing experiences. In 2024 alone, they reached 2.7 million kids with free educational resources and grants that brought gardens to life in classrooms, neighborhoods, and homes across the country.
