City of Columbia invites community members to summer block parties

S For Story/10660431
(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - The City of Columbia is bringing the community together with a series of informal block parties this summer. From June to July, residents can enjoy food, music, and games while connecting with City staff and learning about City services.

The idea for these block parties came from feedback received at the City's first Community Summit in March. Attendees expressed a desire to engage with City leaders and Council members in their own neighborhoods. Many suggested block parties as a fun and approachable way to interact and learn from one another.

All parties will take place from 5-7 p.m. at various parks throughout the city. The first party will be held on June 5 at Stephens Lake Park's Gordon Shelter. Other locations include Douglass Park, Albert-Oakland Park, Fairview Park, Cosmo-Bethel Park, Indian Hills Park, and Rock Quarry Park.

These events are a great opportunity for community members to come together and get to know their local government in a relaxed setting. Don't miss out on the chance to connect with your neighbors and learn more about the services provided by the City of Columbia.
