Concrete to Creek Brings Off-Leash Nature Hikes to NYC's City Dogs
S For Story/10705433
A Brooklyn-based dog adventure company is giving city dogs real time in nature, with door-to-trail transport, small groups, and a belief that every dog deserves more than the block.
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - s4story -- Concrete to Creek, a New York City dog adventure company, is offering city dogs something the five boroughs cannot: real off-leash time in nature.
Founded by Nick Viscomi, Concrete to Creek takes dogs out of the city and onto genuine trails across the tri-state area, including the Staten Island Greenbelt, Stateline Lookout, and South Mountain Reservation in New Jersey. Dogs spend their day sniffing, exploring, crossing creeks, and moving at their own pace in a way that daily city walks simply cannot replicate.
The company was built on a straightforward idea: city dogs are wired for more than a walk around the block. Many urban dogs live their entire lives within a few blocks of the same apartment, and the lack of real stimulation often shows up as anxiety, restlessness, and pent-up energy. Concrete to Creek was created to close that gap.
What sets the company apart begins with group size. While many dog hiking services take ten to fifteen dogs at once, Concrete to Creek keeps its groups small so that every dog receives genuine attention and individualized care. Smaller groups allow for better safety, closer supervision, and the ability to read each dog as an individual.

The company also takes a measured approach to off-leash freedom. Every dog begins on leash while settling in, and freedom is built gradually as each dog demonstrates readiness. This philosophy makes the service accessible to nervous dogs, reactive dogs, and dogs still developing their skills, not just experienced trail dogs.
Concrete to Creek handles the entire experience from start to finish, picking dogs up at their door, transporting them to and from the trail, and returning them home settled and content. The company serves all five boroughs and runs hikes three days a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
The inspiration for the company came from Viscomi's own dog, who struggled with the stress and confinement of city life until regular time in nature transformed her behavior and wellbeing. That transformation became the foundation for everything Concrete to Creek does.
New clients begin with a free consultation walk, a no-commitment introduction that allows the company to meet each dog in person before any adventure begins.
