New hire brings seven years of hands-on marketing and campaign experience to support Connect's events, storytelling and brand presence across San Diego's innovation community.

SAN DIEGO - s4story -- Connect, the nonprofit organization supporting San Diego's innovation ecosystem for more than 40 years, announced the appointment of Austin Robertson as Marketing & Events Coordinator.

"Austin has real experience running marketing day to day, not just planning it from a distance," said Tre Braquet, Chief Brand & Engagement Officer at Connect. "He's built campaigns, managed trade show presence and produced content across a wide range of channels inside a lean team. That kind of hands-on execution is exactly what helps Connect's storytelling and events reach the people they're built for."

Robertson joins Connect as the organization continues to expand how it tells the story of San Diego's innovation economy, including through The Connect Current, Connect's podcast featuring founders and ecosystem leaders, and its recently expanded press release platform, which gives founders, venture firms and organizations a trusted channel to share company milestones. Robertson will help build on that momentum, supporting day-to-day execution across social media, email and web content, along with planning and on-site delivery of Connect's events and convenings.

More on S For Story
Robertson spent more than seven years as a marketing specialist at Mytee, LLC, a Poway-based manufacturer of commercial cleaning and detailing equipment, where he worked within a small in-house team overseeing day-to-day marketing operations. His work included building campaigns across social media, search and email, coordinating exhibitor presence at industry trade shows and producing marketing collateral. Earlier in his career, he worked as an account manager at Carpe Diem Marketing, a San Diego-based direct sales and marketing agency, managing a territory across San Diego County.

"Connect has built something special in San Diego's innovation community, and I'm excited to help bring that story to life through our events and our marketing," Robertson said. "There's a lot of energy here, and my goal is to help make sure that energy is visible, and felt throughout this ecosystem."

Robertson holds a bachelor's degree in business marketing from San Diego State University.

His appointment adds capacity to Connect's brand and engagement team as the organization continues to expand its storytelling, events and programming across San Diego's technology, life sciences and defense sectors.
