FORT MYERS, Fla. - s4story -- Joe Herbstreith, director of golf at Countryside Golf & Country Club, has been named the 2026 Naples Community's Choice Awards winner in the Golf Instructor/Pro category. The award was announced Sept. 11 at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples.

The Naples Community's Choice Awards are determined by public participation. Residents nominated their favorites in April, then voted in June to select winners across more than 160 categories. Herbstreith's win gives Countryside members and staff an opportunity to celebrate the professional who helps shape their golf experience.

Herbstreith brings decades of private club experience to Countryside. He spent 27 years serving members at Birmingham Country Club in Michigan before working at Delaire Country Club in Delray Beach and The Island Country Club on Marco Island. A Class A Member of the PGA of America since 2000, Herbstreith joined Countryside in 2025, bringing a wealth of experience and passion for the game of golf.

At Countryside, Herbstreith leads golf operations for a community where the game is a central part of club life. The club's private, 70-par, 18-hole golf course provides members with competitive play for all levels. Originally designed by architect Arthur Hills, the club completed a $5.5 million course redesign in 2019 with renowned architect Kipp Schulties. Today, the course features USGA greens, a state-of-the-art irrigation system and exceptional playability.
