Dave Hanlon Announces Studio Sessions

A Decade of Jazz‑Funk, Fusion, and Musical Brotherhood — Curated for the First Time Ever
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - s4story -- Veteran Syracuse drummer Dave Hanlon announces the release of Studio Sessions, a powerful collection of performances recorded between 2014 and 2024 and featuring 24 musicians. Drawn from the acclaimed Studio Jams and Lest We Forget Musicianssessions created and produced by Tom Emmi, this album marks the first time that any of these sessions have been curated, assembled, and released as a unified album.
The Studio Jams material captures musicians in their most natural state — completely unrehearsed, spontaneous, and responding to each other in real time. These performances are pure musical conversation: groove‑driven, exploratory, and alive. Many musicians come together to make this record possible: Chuck Archard, Loren Barrigar, Tom Brigandi, Andrew Carroll, Jimmy Cox, Rick Cua, Donna Colton, Brian Golden, Maureen Henesey, Joe Jewell, Tony Hooper, Ronnie Leigh, Jason Long, Josh Nussbaum, Mark Nanni, Andrew Neu, Edgar Pagan, Gil Parris, Duke Shanahan, Kip Sophos, Bob Viavattine, John Viavattine, & John Viavattine Jr.

The Lest We Forget Musicians sessions were rehearsed tribute performances, created to honor the lives and legacies of the featured artists.
Shaped into a cohesive album by producer Charlie Bertini, Studio Sessions blends jazz, funk, rock, and soul, celebrating both the spark of improvisation and the power of musical remembrance. The result is a dynamic, groove‑rich project that honors community, collaboration, and the timeless spirit of musicians creating together.
Hanlon's work on Studio Jams and Lest We Forget Musicians has reached a global audience — the videos he appears in have now exceeded 6 million views, reflecting the enduring appeal of these performances and the musicians behind them.
Studio Sessions stands as both a musical statement and a tribute to the artists who shaped these sessions over a decade of creativity.
Release Date: May 1st, 2026.
