WATERFORD, Mich. - s4story -- A debut novel by Josh Price, Reaper, is slated for release on July 9th, 2019, by Zimbell House Publishing. This first installment in the Gatekeeper series is a hotly anticipated science fiction exploration of the Underworld, and the gatekeepers who keep the threats of the darker, immortal realm at bay. Inspired by the concept of how one could communicate from the dead, Price has constructed a complex, intricate series of realms with the potential for travel between our world and those that threaten us.

When Aaron secures a part-time job as a funeral home security guard, he's just trying to make ends meet during his first year of college. But then, he runs into Kyle. Kyle is a zombie, but he's not quite the hungry-for-flesh zombie you'd expect. Aaron and his newly befriended zombie-friend encounter an ancient organization known as the Gatekeepers.

The Gatekeepers exist for one important reason. They are responsible for keeping the malignant powers of unseen magical creatures and the Lord of the Damned at bay. To protect the world from ultimate darkness, Aaron and Kyle must join the Gatekeepers in their mission of keeping the Lord of the Damned from enslaving the entire human race. Their journey begins in the Underworld, where they soon learn that their world will never be the same again.

Josh Price is inspired by writers like Stephen King and the Artemis Fowl series. Currently working on the future installments of the Gatekeepers series, Price is also writing a steampunk interpretation of Jason and the Argonauts.
