SETAUKET, N.Y. - s4story -- On September 5th, veteran, firefighter, and Congressional candidate Chris Gallant will meet with dementia caregivers from New York's 1st Congressional District to hear firsthand about the challenges facing families caring for loved ones with dementia.

Every day, more Americans are diagnosed with dementia — and every day, more Americans become caregivers for them. Despite this growing need, Medicare's coverage falls far short of what dementia patients and their families require. As a result, many families are pushed toward bankruptcy trying to keep up with the rising costs of care and supplies.
