DTX Documentary Photographer's Fort Worth Catrina Festival Coverage Goes Viral, Surpassing 363,000
S For Story/10706489
SD3 Creative's coverage of the fifth annual cultural celebration gains widespread attention as performers and dance troupes share photographs across social media.
DALLAS - s4story -- Dallas-based documentary photographer Stephanie Boyd, founder of SD3 Creative, is gaining widespread attention following her coverage of the fifth annual Fort Worth Catrina Festival. A highlight video featuring the event coverage has surpassed 363,000 views on TikTok, while performers and participating dance troupes have independently shared her photographs across multiple social media platforms.
The annual Fort Worth Catrina Festival celebrates Mexican culture, heritage, and artistic expression through elaborate Catrina costumes, traditional dance performances, music, and community festivities. Boyd attended the celebration to document the people, performances, and moments that make the event a distinctive part of North Texas's cultural landscape.

What began as another opportunity to capture local culture has evolved into one of SD3 Creative's most widely viewed projects, introducing Boyd's documentary-style photography to an expanding audience.
"The most meaningful photographs, to me, are the ones that tell a story without needing an explanation," said Boyd. "I love documenting people, places, and experiences as they naturally unfold. I don't want to manufacture a moment. I want to recognize it when it happens. Seeing the performers share these images and watching so many people connect with the festival through my work has been incredibly rewarding. These are their stories and their traditions. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to document a small part of that."
Beyond the video's growing audience, the response from festival participants has been particularly meaningful. Performers and dance troupes featured in Boyd's photographs have shared the images through their own social media accounts, extending the celebration's visibility beyond the event itself.

The attention also highlights the role of authentic visual storytelling in event marketing and community engagement. Rather than relying on staged photography or heavily produced promotional content, Boyd's approach emphasizes candid moments, human connection, and the atmosphere that makes each experience unique.
Through SD3 Creative, Boyd specializes in documentary photography for cultural events, live music, hospitality, businesses, and community organizations. Her work focuses on capturing authentic experiences and creating visual narratives that audiences can connect with.
The Catrina Festival's viral response comes amid growing visibility for SD3 Creative, including increased website traffic, expanding social media engagement, and opportunities to document events and organizations throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
