The 204-page volume, freshly translated from a bestseller in Russia, also contains a wealth of historical information about Russian cuisine, from the 16th century through to the revolution and beyond. There's even a recent menu from a dinner attended by Vladimir Putin - although no indiscretions regarding the recently revealed "Putin's Palace"!
