Fans of Princess Olga Romanoff can now recreate her family's flavours
ST NICHOLAS-AT-WADE, U.K. - s4story -- Thanks to a starring role alongside Alexander Armstrong in the recent TV programme "The Queen and her Cousins", Her Highness Princess Olga Romanoff has quickly become a darling of the British press, with social media full of comments praising her down-to-earth nature. Yet although the "wild and barefoot" princess has a rebellious streak, she was of sufficient stock to be considered a possible match for Prince Charles, and in her foreword to a new book from local publisher Ozaru Books, she reminisces about her family's French chefs and their vineyards' fine wines.
"Courtly Feasts to Kremlin Banquets" details numerous menus from inside the Russian Imperial household, both at the Kremlin and at their summer dacha in the Crimea. It includes full recipes (with both US and UK units & ingredients), and photographs recreated by a contemporary catering college.

But it is far more than just a cookery book. The 204-page volume, freshly translated from a bestseller in Russia, also contains a wealth of historical information about Russian cuisine, from the 16th century through to the revolution and beyond. There's even a recent menu from a dinner attended by Vladimir Putin - although no indiscretions regarding the recently revealed "Putin's Palace"!
Princess Olga writes: "Russian cuisine has always carried a profound sense of tradition and custom, with which I hope this book will fascinate and enrich the reader. It will be a delightful addition to the library of anyone interested in the culinary history of Russia."
The profusely illustrated, full-colour hardback includes an epilogue describing Princess Olga's home Provender, in Kent. It is now available from all good bookshops, both bricks-and-mortar and online.
