The ACES conference will be held March 23 – 25 in Columbus, Ohio. The theme of the event, to be held at the Hyatt Regency Columbus, is Evolve, The Power of Editing—an exploration of the professional editing life emphasizing various paths for personal and professional development.

"We look forward to going to ACES every year," says Kirsten Reach, EFA  Ohio chapter co-chairperson and this year's booth captain. "It's a great conference, full of valuable content and also a wonderful chance to socialize and spend time with colleagues."

Since the first ACES conference in 1997, editorial professionals have been gathering to network and learn from industry experts. ACES speakers and panelists provide skill-building opportunities, expert insight, and information on trends in language, grammar, style, and usage.

Both the Editorial Freelancers Association and the American Copy Editors Society are committed to upholding professional standards and building skills and knowledge among their membership. In addition to conferences such as this one, the EFA and ACES offer classes, discussion groups, lectures and professional resources to both members and the general public.

Founded in 1970, the EFA is a national nonprofit professional organization with approximately 3,000 members, including writers, editors, copy editors, proofreaders, indexers, translators and others who work in publishing, communications and related fields.
