Organization emphasizes healthy work design, prevention of psychological harm, and worker participation.
WASHINGTON - s4story -- End Workplace Abuse (EWA) announced that it has become a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Total Worker Health® Affiliate, marking a milestone in its work to prevent workplace abuse and advance worker safety, health, and well-being.
The NIOSH Total Worker Health® approach integrates protection from work-related
hazards with efforts to prevent injury and illness and promote worker well-being. It
emphasizes the role of working conditions in supporting safer, healthier lives.
EWA's contribution centers on helping organizations put prevention into everyday
practice: how jobs are designed, workloads are assigned, decisions are made, leaders
respond to concerns, and workers participate in improving their workplaces.

"Worker well-being is shaped by the decisions organizations make every day about
staffing, workload, schedules, leadership, and whose voices are heard," said Natalia
Carlton, Chief Business Partnerships Officer at End Workplace Abuse. "This affiliation is
an opportunity to help translate prevention principles into simple changes in how work is
designed and managed. Our goal is to help organizations create conditions in which
people can work safely, contribute meaningfully, and be treated with dignity."
EWA's planned contributions include sharing educational resources, supporting healthy
work design, convening professionals to exchange implementation lessons, and
developing practical tools that help organizations identify and address conditions that
can contribute to worker harm.
This work emphasizes proactive worker participation and coordination across leadership, operations, human resources, and occupational safety and health. It connects the prevention of workplace bullying and abuse with broader efforts to improve the systems that shape workers' daily experiences.
