Weekly Texas BBQ newsletter marks 20 numbered editions covering news, culture, events, restaurants, media, and community.
SAN ANTONIO - s4story -- ExploringBBQ.com will publish the 20th numbered issue of BBQ Fandom on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Central, marking a consistency milestone for the weekly Texas BBQ newsletter.
BBQ Fandom launched on March 19, 2026, with an introductory welcome edition and its first numbered issue published the same day. Since then, the newsletter has delivered a new numbered edition each week, bringing together Texas BBQ stories, restaurant developments, events, videos, podcasts, books, recipes, travel resources, and original cultural commentary.
"Reaching Issue 20 means more to us than hitting a number," said Mike Wheeler, co-founder of ExploringBBQ.com and BBQ Fandom. "It represents 20 numbered weekly editions devoted to the people, places, ideas, and conversations that keep Texas BBQ moving. We created BBQ Fandom for people who do not just eat BBQ, but genuinely follow the culture. We are grateful to every reader who has opened an issue, clicked a story, shared it with a friend, or joined the conversation."

BBQ Fandom was created to give barbecue fans a dependable way to follow the wider culture surrounding the food. Texas BBQ coverage is often spread across restaurant announcements, local reporting, social media, videos, podcasts, event calendars, and individual publications. The newsletter brings worthwhile developments together in one approachable weekly edition while adding original perspective through ExploringBBQ.com.
Recurring coverage includes original commentary through From the Pit, noteworthy restaurant and industry developments, selected BBQ videos and media, upcoming cook-offs and festivals, and guides from ExploringBBQ.com.
BBQ Fandom Issue 20 features "Brisket After Dark: How a Texas BBQ Dinner Really Works," an examination of how Texas barbecue restaurants approach dinner service, brisket availability, sellouts, production planning, and customer expectations after the traditional lunch rush.
During its most recent four-week reporting period, BBQ Fandom maintained a platform-reported average open rate of 50.55 percent while continuing to build its readership.
