Free Community Book Fair in Newark
S For Story/10689383
GLEN RIDGE, N.J. - s4story -- Ted Olczak, publisher of Printed Word Reviews, announced a free community book fair on April 26, 2026, hosted at the DoubleTree by Hilton, 128 Frontage Rd, Newark, NJ. This landmark event serves as a capstone event of BookCAMP 2026, a premier gathering that this year celebrates the intersection of global literary excellence and local community growth.
As the official host of the International Independent Press & NYC Big Book Award, BookCAMP 2026 honors high-caliber publishing from authors worldwide. However, the mission of this year's fair extends beyond the awards stage. The event is a dedicated initiative to uplift local authors, fostering a vibrant ecosystem for "a good book" and those who create them.
"We are thrilled to open our doors to the Newark community," said Ted Olczak. "BookCAMP isn't just about recognizing global winners; it's about the power of the local word. By bringing international talent and local creators together under one roof, we are building a stronger, more connected literary culture right here in Essex County."
In a significant move to support the city's economic and cultural development, the organizers have committed a significant portion of table proceeds from the event directly to local community organizations. This ensures that every book sold and every merchant present contributes to the long-term success of Newark's neighborhoods.
