Dr. Shahin Samadi — NASA Contributor, Entrepreneur & Johns Hopkins Professor — Offers a Rare Firsthand Account of Iran's Most Defining Moment

WASHINGTON - s4story -- Washington, D.C. — As Iran continues to dominate global headlines, one Washington, D.C. author offers what few can: a firsthand account of living through the seismic events that set the stage for today's crisis.

Dr. Shahin Samadi, PhD — scientist, entrepreneur, and former NASA contributor — has released Currents of Being, Volume I: The River of Life and Currents of Being, Volume II: Eternal Wisdom, a landmark two-volume memoir tracing his extraordinary journey from pre-revolutionary Iran to the forefront of American science, technology, and thought.

Born in Iran, Dr. Samadi witnessed the 1979 Islamic Revolution firsthand — not as an observer, but as someone whose life was transformed by it. His memoir is not a political analysis written from a distance. It is lived history, told from the inside. Weaving personal memory with deep historical context, Samadi explores how identity survives rupture, how heritage travels across borders, and how the human spirit adapts when everything it has known is upended.

"To understand Iran today, you must understand 1979. I was there. I lived it. This book is my attempt to give readers what the news cycle cannot — the human story behind the headlines, told with honesty, depth, and love for a civilization that the world too often reduces to a headline." — Dr. Shahin Samadi

ABOUT THE BOOKS

Volume I: The River of Life takes readers from the warmth of pre-revolutionary Iran — vibrant, ancient, and alive — through the seismic upheaval of the 1979 Islamic Revolution and into a new life in the United States. It is at once uniquely Iranian and universally human: a story of identity, loss, resilience, and the enduring power of heritage.

Volume II: Eternal Wisdom moves beyond personal narrative into the larger patterns a remarkable life exposed — the forces that shape belief, the tensions between individual purpose and collective destiny, and the enduring questions no single generation has ever fully resolved. Drawing on history, science, philosophy, and lived experience, Samadi offers a meditation on meaning, integrity, and what it means to contribute something lasting to the world.
