"Heart Work A Heart-Centered Collection of Poems" Celebrates First Book Birthday
GREENVILLE, S.C. - s4story -- Founder of White Girl Advocacy and poet, Melissa Whiteford St. Clair celebrates the first anniversary of her second book of poetry, "Heart Work A Heart-Centered Collection of Poems on Valentine's Day which was released on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. The February 2023 release celebrated Black History month and the poet's literary activism around social justice.
Sharing her journey on the matter of race with readers in "Heart Work A Heart-Centered Collection of Poems," Melissa Whiteford St. Clair uses poetry as a mechanism to
process reflections and responses to her study of racism and social justice in American history and today's society.
Additional inspiration for the poetry came from participation in a JustFaith Ministries workshop Faith and Racial Equity along with independent study.
A section of lighthearted poems written while on vacation rounds out this collection.
