A Hitman Faces the Deadliest Murder for Hire Organization on the Planet
S For Story/10477869
TORRANCE, Calif. - s4story -- Set to release July 27, 2021, Jack Polo's "I, Hunter" is an action-packed thriller about a hitman who discovers he is being set up for a kill.
Unlike many thrillers on the market, "I, Hunter" prioritizes complex character development over sensational plot, exploring the blurred morality in the world of organized crime. Polo says, "What are our limits? That's always been a fascinating subject for me. 'I, Hunter' explores that idea – about a man who lived life outside society's boundaries as an assassin for hire. But an assassin with his own ethical code: the target had to be deserving of the kill. Otherwise, he wouldn't take it." Polo's protagonist, Nick, is a morally gray character, deciding not to kill someone he believes to be innocent. Polo continues, "Kill or be killed – for Nick only the first part was true, but if the Boss and his organization wanted the second part to come true, they'd have to pay with their lives. All of them."
Nick Hunter never wanted to become a hitman. But when his best friend was assassinated, Nick wanted revenge. After the first kill, the second became a little easier. And it wasn't long before word got around that Nick Hunter was an incredible hunter. But a hunter with his own code. The target had to be worthy of being eliminated. If Nick thought he wasn't or if there were extenuating circumstances, he wouldn't take the job. It was a job that he refused that put the target on his back. And now he finds himself being hunted. Nick's only hope of survival is to hunt down a man so powerful and secret, he's known only as the Boss. And the only way to find him is to work up through the Boss's organization. An organization filled with traps and men and women fiercely loyal who'd rather give up their own lives than give up their leader. As Nick risks everything – racing across the country – from name to name, city to city – each one more dangerous than the other, avoiding ambushes, crooked cops, and double-crosses to find his target and become, finally, the last Hunter.

About the Author
JACK POLO is an optioned and award-winning screenwriter. His fiction, based on that skill set, reads like a verbal camera, keeping the reader deeply involved in the story. His debut novel "The Partners" opened at the top of Black Rose Writing's new releases for 2019. His new "sunshine noir" series – where dark things happen in the bright sunshine of one of southern California's richest beach towns, Paraiso Del Mar, — is the page-turning story of two detectives whose plan to sell real estate on the side explodes into murder.
