These elements come together in Fly, Geese, Fly to Little Flax Pond, a beautifully illustrated new children's book by author Terry Ward Tucker, that brings nature, kindness, and real-life heroes to the page.
Inspired by actual events, the book follows the journey of an injured goose as it's rescued, treated, and released with help from the animal care team at the New England Wildlife Center. Along the way, young readers are introduced to concepts of animal rehabilitation, environmental stewardship, and empathy.
Written for children aged three and up, the book features lush, watercolor-style illustrations by Marta Maszkiewicz and simple, lyrical text that captures both the fragility and resilience of wildlife. More than just a story, Fly, Geese, Fly to Little Flax Pond is a heartfelt tribute to the everyday heroes who care for animals behind the scenes.
