Injured Goose Finds Flight in Heartwarming New Children's Book
S For Story/10665952
Fly, Geese, Fly to Little Flax Pond introduces young readers to wildlife rehabilitation through a true tale of teamwork and compassion.
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. - s4story -- A wounded Canada goose. A team of dedicated wildlife experts. A quiet New England pond. These elements come together in Fly, Geese, Fly to Little Flax Pond, a beautifully illustrated new children's book by author Terry Ward Tucker, that brings nature, kindness, and real-life heroes to the page.
Inspired by actual events, the book follows the journey of an injured goose as it's rescued, treated, and released with help from the animal care team at the New England Wildlife Center. Along the way, young readers are introduced to concepts of animal rehabilitation, environmental stewardship, and empathy.
Written for children aged three and up, the book features lush, watercolor-style illustrations by Marta Maszkiewicz and simple, lyrical text that captures both the fragility and resilience of wildlife. More than just a story, Fly, Geese, Fly to Little Flax Pond is a heartfelt tribute to the everyday heroes who care for animals behind the scenes.

"Families can enjoy this story together while learning about the care and science behind helping injured animals," says Tucker. "My goal wasn't just to tell a story, it was to create a moment families could share."
"At Publish Pros, we're drawn to stories that do more than entertain—they spark curiosity, empathy, and real conversations," says Rich Carnahan, Founder of Publish Pros. "Terry's book introduces young readers to the quiet heroism of wildlife rehab, and we're proud to help bring that kind of meaningful storytelling to life."
The New England Wildlife Center, a nonprofit organization based in Weymouth, Massachusetts, played a key role in the story—and in real life. The center provides emergency veterinary care, rehabilitation, and safe release for thousands of wild animals each year. Their compassionate work is now reaching a new generation through the pages of this book.
Fly, Geese, Fly to Little Flax Pond is now available on Amazon and other online retailers.
