Junk Teens Marks 5 Years in Business, Surpasses $5M in Revenue as Teen-Founded Success Story
S For Story/10678443
BOSTON - s4story -- What began as two high-school brothers hauling junk in a borrowed pickup truck has transformed into one of Massachusetts' most compelling youth-entrepreneurship success stories. Junk Teens, founded by brothers Kirk and Jacob McKinney, is celebrating its five-year anniversary with record-breaking growth, viral social media reach, and an expanding workforce of local teens earning some of the highest youth wages in the state.
Launched in 2020 when the founders were still teenagers, Junk Teens has now surpassed $5.1 million in lifetime revenue, completed more than 15,000 jobs, and hauled away 7.4 million pounds of junk for homeowners and businesses across Massachusetts.
"Looking back, it always amazes me to see where we started," said Kirk McKinney. "Just a curious kid exploring the junk yard and discovering opportunity in trash. It's been a dream come true to create so many opportunities for our friends and peers by offering jobs to them while doing what we love."

In just the past year, Junk Teens has:
