S For Story/10657095
A Maya Angelou inspired, Ode to the Unseen Power, Pain, and Poetry of Womanhood
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - s4story -- Poet, author, and cultural observer La'Nardo Myrick Sr. announces the release of his most intimate and resonant work to date, A Woman's Measure, a poetic tribute to the layered strength, resilience, and grace of women everywhere.
Inspired by the timeless voice of Maya Angelou and shaped by the personal lens of fatherhood and reflection, A Woman's Measure is a collection of 30 long-form poems that explore the many dimensions of womanhood — from quiet endurance to explosive self-discovery. Through raw stanzas and soul-baring lines, Myrick captures the unspoken moments that define women, especially Black women, who bear the weight of generations while still finding space to bloom.
"This book is an offering—of admiration, memory, and manhood matured," says Myrick. "I am working on a poetry listening project to be released in May 2025 also. This literary project, It's a love letter to the women I've watched become legends in real time — including my daughters, my sisters, and those who raised me."
