BALTIMORE - s4story -- Lance Reddick, a renowned character actor recognized for his portrayal of intense and possibly sinister authority figures on TV and film, including "The Wire," "Fringe," and the "John Wick" franchise, has passed away at the age of 60. According to his publicist Mia Hansen, Reddick died suddenly on Friday morning due to natural causes, but no further details were given.
Reddick's co-star on "The Wire," Wendell Pierce, paid tribute to him on Twitter, describing him as "a man of great strength and grace" who was "the epitome of class." Director Chad Stahelski and star Keanu Reeves of "John Wick — Chapter Four" also expressed their condolences, dedicating the upcoming film to Reddick and expressing their deep sadness and heartbreak at his loss.
Throughout his career, Reddick frequently played tall, elegant, and taciturn men of distinction, often donning suits or crisp uniforms. His most notable role was as Lt. Cedric Daniels on the popular HBO series "The Wire," where he portrayed a straight-laced police officer trapped in the murky politics of the Baltimore police department.
