Lyddon's doc is a journey across northern Florida to find the fabled Barlow House in DeLand. Lovecraft spent several months of his life over the course of two trips to DeLand to visit his friend and fellow weird fiction enthusiast, Robert H. Barlow. Barlow would become pivotal in Lovecraft's life as an archivist. He maintained a variety of manuscripts and related materials that would be published after the famed cosmic horror author's death.
