Written, directed, and produced by Memphis visionary Tymika Chambliss-Williams, this soul-rich holiday musical blends gospel, humor, and heart to redefine a timeless classic.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - s4story -- MEMPHIS, TN — Making global history, Ms. Scroogeworth: A Christmas Musical first premiered in December 2023, marking the world's first Black female–led and produced reimagining of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Now returning to Memphis for its 2025 mainstage season, the production brings a bold new vision of the classic redemption story through faith, culture, and the power of Black storytelling.
A REIMAGINED HOLIDAY MUSICAL WITH SOUL
This original, gender-flipped reimagining of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol brings the classic tale into present-day Memphis, where Ebony Scroogeworth, a sharp, successful businesswoman, has buried her joy beneath ambition and isolation. When she is visited by the Timeweavers of her Past, Present, and Future, she must confront the cost of her choices and rediscover the true meaning of the holiday season.
