The Positive Opossums "Rainy Day" A Heartwarming Children's Book Teaching Joy on Gloomy Days
S For Story/10676894
AUGUSTA, Ga. - s4story -- Just in time for cozy indoor reading season, The Positive Opossum "Rainy Day", a delightful picture book for ages 3-8, will be released on November 10, 2025, via Amazon. Written by Charles M. Allsbrooks (aka Dakota West) of Grovetown, GA and illustrated by Carson Heath, this charming story follows cheerful opossum Pauly and Paula as they transform a rainy day into an adventure of imagination, family fun, and positivity.
The tale begins on a "perfectly perfect day" with Pauly and Paula ready for outdoor play—hip-hip-hooray! —until rain begins to run. Instead of disappointment, they listen to music, dance around, bake treats and discover that rainy days can sparkle with indoor magic. Through playful rhyme and vibrant illustrations, young readers learn that a positive attitude turns any cloud into a silver lining.
Dedicated to the author's grandsons, Landry "Turtle" and Wiley "Rabbit," he reminds them: "May you always find the positive in everything. Love you, Poppy."

"I wanted my grandsons—and every child—to know that rain doesn't cancel fun; it just changes the game," said Charles M. Allsbrooks. "Opossums are resilient, clever, and full of quiet joy. This story celebrates that spirit and reminds kids that happiness is a choice, even on soggy days."
Illustrator Carson Heath brings the opossum world to life with whimsical, nature-filled artwork featuring rolling green hills, playful butterflies, and expressive characters that leap off the page.
Available in paperback and Kindle formats, The Positive Opossums "Rainy Day" is the first in a planned series promoting kindness, gratitude, and emotional resilience through the lens of these lovable, often-misunderstood marsupials.
