Mount Dora Craft Fair and Plant Festival set to go on after hurricane hit
S For Story/10640329
Two major Central Florida festivals happening back-to-back in the wake of Hurrican Milton are scheduled to take place despite local damage.
MOUNT DORA, Fla. - s4story -- Hurricane Milton passed through Central Florida in October leaving a path of destruction but Mount Dora, Florida, known as the "Festival City", will proceed with two major annual events scheduled for the end of October and first weekend in November.
Event Coordinator Janet Gamache says "Mount Dora saw some flooding and trees down but the Mount Dora Craft Fair and the Mount Dora Plant and Garden Fair are both going to take place as usual in the historic downtown district. People have been hit hard over the past few weeks and so many shows have been cancelled. It's really hurting many artists and vendors so we hope people will come out and make some purchases to support them."
Consistently ranked in the top 5 Best Craft Festivals in the nation by Sunshine Artists magazine, the 40th Mount Dora Craft Fair is set for October 26 & 27, 2024. More than 300 hand crafters and original artists will set up to show and sell on the streets of the historic downtown district. Enjoy festival food, live music, and cocktails while browsing through the creative displays. Avoid downtown traffic and take the free shuttle located at 900 Lincoln Ave, Mount Dora, FL. Get more info at www.MountDoraCraftFair.com

The 30th Mount Dora Plant and Garden Fair is set for Nov 2 & 3, 2024 in Donnelly Park. As the perfect time for planting in Florida approaches, almost 100 vendors and nurseries from around the state will gather to showcase a vast array of Florida native and exotic plants, as well as garden art and ware. Live plein air painters will also be on site creating original artwork for sale hosted by Mount Dora Center for the Arts on Sat Nov 2 from 9AM to 3PM. Come out to support local nurseries, get expert gardening advice from knowledgeable staff, and enjoy convenient plant transport courtesy of volunteers. Get more info at www.MountDoraPlantandGardenFair.com.
Both events are sponsored by Visit Mount Dora and are FREE to attend.
