OKLAHOMA CITY - s4story -- Mustang Elite Track Club athletes continued their standout 2026 outdoor season with top finishes, personal records, and dominant rankings across multiple meets, including the highly competitive Jenks Invitational and OBU Bison Invitational.
McCorvey Leads Elite Hurdle Group at Jenks Invitational
Jonathan McCorvey delivered one of the top performances of the weekend at the Jenks Invitational, placing 2nd overall in a loaded field that included Broken Arrow standouts Hudson Lott and Tayshawn Jones-Wade, both ranked among the top five hurdlers in Oklahoma.
McCorvey ran a personal record of 14.29 in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing as the top Oklahoma competitor in the race and further solidifying his position among the state's elite.
Adams Breaks Through into Top 10
Teammate Jarrod Adams (Junior, Mustang High School) also made a strong statement at Jenks, placing 5th overall with a personal best of 15.01 in the 110-meter hurdles. The performance moves Adams to #9 in Oklahoma Class 6A, continuing the upward trajectory of the Mustang hurdle squad.

Njifunuh Claims Gold at OBU
At the OBU Bison Invitational, Kingsley Njifunuh took home 1st place in the 110-meter hurdles, running 15.10 and defeating Midwest City's Tavion McGuire-Theus in the process.
Mustang Hurdle Squad Leads the State
Under the direction of Coach Elijah Edwards, Mustang Elite hurdlers are currently ranked #1, #5, #9, and #12 in Oklahoma Class 6A in the 110-meter hurdles — making them the top-ranked hurdle group in the state. The depth and consistency of performances across the group continue to separate Mustang Elite from the competition.

- Maddison Keeton (Senior) placed 6th in the Girls High Jump at the OBU Bison Invitational, matching her personal best of 5'0"
- Aven Conyer (Bethany Middle School, 8th Grade) won 1st place in High Jump at the Bristow Middle School Meet with a personal best of 5'6"
- Izzy Melton (Bethany Middle School, 8th Grade) placed 1st in the 200m (27.48) and 4th in Long Jump (16'1"), currently ranking #7 in Oklahoma Middle School
