Led by Chair Cyndee Haydon, the session paired a fireside chat with White House OSTP Director Michael Kratsios with a candid expert panel on AI liability, the federal-vs-state regulatory divide, and practical guidance for agents.

SEMINOLE, Fla. - s4story -- The National Association of REALTORS® Regulatory Issues Forum drew a standing-room-only crowd for its session, "AI Innovation, Real Estate & Regulation: A Candid Discussion about AI Regulation," held Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Room 152AB, during the REALTORS® Legislative Meetings.

The forum was chaired by Cyndee Haydon, Broker Associate with Future Home Realty's Sandbars to Sunsets Team and 2026 Chair of the NAR Regulatory Issues Forum.

The session opened with a fireside chat featuring Michael Kratsios, Assistant to the President and Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, in conversation with Caitlin Vannoy, NAR's Director of Legal Advocacy. Kratsios discussed the administration's push for a national AI framework and the opportunity AI adoption represents for small businesses.

A panel discussion followed, moderated by Sipho Simela, Founder and CEO of Matrix Rental Solutions, and featuring Adam Thierer, Resident Senior Fellow for Technology and Innovation at the R Street Institute, and Travis Hall, Director for State Engagement at the Center for Democracy & Technology. The panel explored the developer-versus-deployer liability question, the roughly 1,800 state-level AI legislative measures now in play, and the federal preemption debate, including the proposed Great American AI Act.

"AI is evolving in real time, and so is the regulatory landscape around it," Haydon added. "Our members deserve to know where the puck is going. That's exactly what this forum delivered."
