NASA Awards Simulation and Advanced Software Services II Contract

WASHINGTON, July 2, 2025 ~ NASA has recently announced that they have awarded a contract to MacLean Engineering & Applied Technologies, LLC of Houston. The contract, known as Simulation and Advanced Software Services II (SASS II), will provide the agency with simulation and advanced software services from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2030. The maximum potential value of the contract is set at $150 million.

This single award contract is an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quality contract that allows for the issuance of both cost-plus-fixed-fee task orders and firm-fixed-price task orders. Under this five-year agreement, MacLean Engineering & Applied Technologies will be responsible for providing simulation and software services for various aspects of space-based vehicles and systems.

Some of the specific tasks outlined in the SASS II contract include developing models for space-based vehicles and robotic manipulator systems, creating human biomechanical representations for analysis and countermeasure devices, and providing guidance, navigation, and control for all flight phases. Additionally, the awardee will be responsible for simulating on-board computer systems and astronomical object surface interactions.

MacLean Engineering & Applied Technologies has also enlisted the help of major subcontractors Tietronix Software Inc. in Houston and VEDO Systems, LLC in League City, Texas to assist with fulfilling their responsibilities under this contract.
