SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. - s4story -- National Family Justice, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening families and supporting fair and healthy parent child relationships, today announced its public support for the State of Men's Health Act, H.R. 7602, currently under consideration in the United States Congress.

The State of Men's Health Act calls for a comprehensive federal review of the health challenges facing men and boys in the United States, including disparities in life expectancy, suicide rates, workplace fatalities, mental health outcomes, and access to preventative care. The legislation would direct the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to conduct a nationwide assessment and provide recommendations aimed at improving health outcomes for men and boys.

According to national public health data, men in the United States die on average several years earlier than women and experience significantly higher rates of suicide, substance abuse, and occupational fatalities. Despite these disparities, advocates say that a coordinated national strategy focused specifically on men's health has largely been absent from federal policy.
