A Nation's Most Famous Novelist Decries Women's Illiteracy
S For Story/10496657
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - s4story -- There is a high-tech nation with over two hundred million English-speaking people,75% of whom have Internet, more mobile wi-fi subscribers than the entire United Kingdom, and famous literary heritage. That nation is Pakistan, and half the female population is unable to read with any degree of proficiency or comprehension.
"The the reason so many of our women are illiterate is that they have been denied education," asserts Pakistan's most famous contemporary novelist, Mian Mohsin Zia, whose fanbase is primarily females in America, Australia, England, and Russia.
"How damaging and absurd for mothers, the primary educators of our children to be kept illiterate and ignorant," said Mian. "A wise mother will raise wise children. A well-read mother makes better-informed decisions. The benefits of literacy are blessings beyond measure."
The meteoric rise of Mian Mohsin Zia's international fame against this backdrop of female illiteracy is both inspiring and troubling.

"I was blessed to have wonderful parents who encouraged me to learn and grow, to read and learn and understand," states Mian.
"The problems that vex humanity – greed, prejudice, oppression, exploitation – will all give way to a world of cooperation, unity, understanding, and respect. Every book I have written deals with issues of the heart and of the mind – I aim to entertain and uplift. I do not preach. The world cries out for love, unity fellowship, and justice. All those are possible with an increase in literacy."
"Pakistan has all the technology, the attitude, and the potential," he said. "Look what I have managed to accomplish at my age. It was always possible. Someone simply had to arise and be dedicated to accomplishing the task. I am the first, but many more authors will arise from Pakistan, and many of them will be educated, accomplished, and literate women."
