KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - s4story -- Jan-Carol Publishing, Inc., of Blountville, Tennessee, is thrilled to announce the release of Pearl the Show Pig: Fun on the Farm Adventures Book 2, written and illustrated by Denise Frances DiJoseph.
Denise Frances DiJoseph is an artist and author residing in East TN, but she was born and raised in Chester County, PA. She has the fondest of childhood memories drawing, painting, sitting in a tree to read books, and helping on her aunt and uncle's dairy farm.
Denise earned a BFA in Studio Arts/Art History and a post-grad certificate in Children's Literature. She was an art teacher and gallery owner in Bucks County, PA, and she taught dance classes before opening her art school. During her recent retirement, Denise created an oil painting series of whimsical farm animals that progressed into a chapter book series for ages 6-10, known as the Tin Can Kids Book Club. Future scholarships to seed FFA and 4-H youth projects are provided from author royalties.
The second book in Denise's series follows Betsy, who always wanted a piglet, and now it's her chance to prove that she can be a successful show pig handler at the Fun Fall Festival. Although Pearl loves to ham it up, she gives Betsy more problems beyond stubbornly not wanting to be trained. Katie-Lou encourages Betsy to teach Pearl in a different way to showcase her talented pig who happily sparkles and shines in the competition spotlight. Will Betsy and Pearl place in the show? What about Mikey? Does he have the confidence to stand in front of an audience to give a speech about halter-breaking his calf, Blackberry?
