The National Academic Homeschool Competition debuts to help families plan on college success
GRAY, Tenn. - s4story -- Never before have homeschoolers had the exclusive opportunity to put their college knowledge to the test. That's about to change. Thanks to a partnership between The Old Schoolhouse® and the College Options Foundation®, the first annual virtual National Academic Homeschool Competition (NAHC) debuts this fall, and registration is now open. Both organizations aim to equip and ultimately prepare students for success in life. The NAHC provides homeschooled students the opportunity to compete on a national level. Students will put their knowledge to the test through a series of two online competitions and an online championship.
Once registered for the NAHC, homeschooled students receive free access to award-winning college success software, including Total College Success and Zero Hour Threat. Step-by-step guidance, skills review and exercises, helpful videos, financial aid search tools, expert tips, interactive test practice, and more help parents and their teens prepare for life after homeschool. There are other benefits of participation, according to Terry Wilfong, president of the College Options Foundation®. "The NAHC will significantly improve SAT and ACT scores through a gaming format allowing students to have fun while focusing on science, math, English, and current affairs. Plus, parents will appreciate that the NAHC reinforces homeschool curriculum."

"Homeschool families will save thousands of dollars in college costs and take the pressure of the college prep process off their shoulders by taking part in the NAHC," explained Gena Suarez, publisher of The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine and a trusted leader in the homeschooling community for over two decades. "Participation will be an important addition to your child's transcript, and winning competitors will receive incredible prizes."
Homeschooled students ages 12–18 can register now for the National Academic Homeschool Competition at https://nationalacademicbowl.com/competition/nahc. Detailed information and FAQs can also be found at the website.
"Like homeschooling, preparing for college does not have to be intimidating," added Suarez. "We're thrilled to offer homeschoolers across the country a new opportunity to prepare for the future through this national-level extracurricular event."
