Noah Coughlan Aims to Make History as Third Person to Ever Cross All 50 U.S. States on Foot
S For Story/10672500
Noah Coughlan embarks on an epic 260 Day, 5,500 mile "Run For America" across 20 States including Alaska and Hawaii ending on July 4, 2026.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - s4story -- It will end as it began, with one footstep in the Pacific Ocean. On July 4th, 2026, in Hawaii, Noah Coughlan will take claim to a truly historic accomplishment, becoming only the 3rd person in history to cross each of the 50 U.S. States on foot after completing a remarkable fifth ocean to ocean Run across the United States.
On October 18, 2025, Coughlan will begin the 5,500 mile "Run For America : A Tribute to the American People" spanning 20 States and 260 total days running solo with an American Flag. He will cross Kansas independently followed by South Carolina and North Carolina, three States he was unable to cross on previous treks.
He will add the transcontinental trek in December from the Atlantic Ocean in Maine, ending at the Pacific Ocean in Oregon in May 2026. He will continue in June 2026 with a 900 mile trek from the Arctic Ocean in northern Alaska to Anchorage followed by the historic finish in Hawaii on America's 250th semiquincentennial birthday on July 4th, 2026.

Since the day he left San Diego in February 2011, Coughlan has amassed over 13,000 miles on four separate solo Runs across America in 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2023. He also ran across Ireland in 2020. His previous treks have been punctuated with over 250 media interviews, multiple police escorts, meetings with town mayors, State Governors and Representatives, members of the United States military, and members of Congress. The United States Marines Corps has honorably folded the American Flag at the completion of his journeys.
Noah has remained spirited and resolute, advocating for the 35 million Americans with Rare Diseases, honoring U.S. Service Members and Veterans, and interviewing the remaining World War 2 Veterans. His approach has been personal and heartfelt evidenced by the stories told and impact made through the thousands of big cities and small towns he left behind.
Noah calls the forthcoming final trek across the USA "an inevitable necessity" after 36 States completed with only 14 remaining. One last run to cross all 50 States, and interview the American People in the months leading to Independence Day 2026. "What does America mean to you?" "What does the American Flag mean to you?"
