ARLINGTON, Va., April 2, 2024 ~ The Pro Football Retired Players Association (PFRPA) has announced the opening of registration for their upcoming 'PFRPA Champions Luncheon' on June 12, 2024 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This inaugural event will be held at the historic Hotel Northland and will honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the former player community. Attendees will also have the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the biggest names in NFL history.
Confirmed guests for the event include Hall of Famers Dave Robinson, Mike Singletary, Ron Mix, Mike Haynes, and Jack Youngblood. PFRPA Board Chair and former Green Bay Packers running back Darrell Thompson stressed the importance of this event for retired NFL players and their supporters.
Thompson stated, "The PFRPA Champions Luncheon is not only a significant event for our organization, but also for the wider community that supports retired NFL players. Companies also have the opportunity to become sponsors of the event with packages starting at $1,000. By supporting this event, businesses can showcase their brand while also being recognized as champions for former NFL players.
PFRPA Executive Director Joe Agbasi expressed his excitement for celebrating advocates for retired players while also building relationships with those interested in supporting PFRPA's mission.
"As a national membership organization for retired NFL players, PFRPA works with strategic partners and alliances committed to bettering the lives of those we serve," Agbasi said. "The PFRPA Champions Luncheon not only allows us to honor champions in the lives of former players and their communities, but also provides an opportunity to bring in new individuals, businesses, and organizations that want to help the retired player community. We welcome the chance to collaborate with new partners as we support retired players with life after the game."
