Revisiting Johnny And June's "Jackson" With A Teenage Bangle And Her Beau
S For Story/10651893
NEW YORK - s4story -- Ton-Up Records is pleased to announce the release of the music video for Blood on The Saddle's version of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash's 1967 Grammy award-winning hit song, "Jackson." Annette Zilinskas (Bass Player in The Bangles; Vocals/Guitar in Blood on the Saddle) was a teenager and a member of The Bangles, and guitar virtuoso Greg Davis was working on putting together his groundbreaking band when the duet was recorded in 1982. "I wasn't even aware I had the song on tape," Davis said.
In the chapter Annette Zilinskas authored in John Doe's 2019 book "More Fun in the New World," she wrote, "I'd go over to his place regularly, and he'd play and I'd sing because he liked my voice." The video debuts today, February 27th, and is available on Blood on the Saddle's Official YouTube channel.

The video features photographs from musician/photographer Terence Dorn (Apache Dancers, Terry Durbin and Bernadette Colomine, Terry Durbin) and Blood on the Saddle founder Greg Davis' archive. Formed in 1983, Blood on the Saddle has released eleven albums and is credited for laying the foundation of the Alternative Country and Rock genres in the 90s.
