BROOKLYN, N.Y. - April 25, 2019 - s4story -- Rio Rocket, a New York City based film and television actor, returned to host the Katra Film Series Spring Edition which featured a night of independent films by the top up-and-coming filmmakers and actors from around the world.

Irene Jean Santos, a film and television actress as well, also returned to host with her vibrant personality as the pair kept the audience energized and invigorated throughout the evening's events.

The duo began hosting the event for the Season 8 Grand Finale and have since hosted all of Katra Film Series' events for 2019. As good friends and frequent acting partners their chemistry and comfort in working together is apparent.

The Katra Film Series screens just under twenty films per event on average in two separate viewing blocks at the Alamo Drafthouse Theater in Downtown Brooklyn. The "before party" red carpet event took place at the HiO store. The after party and awards ceremony took place at Vine BK (formerly Wine Legend) where Rio Rocket and Irene Jean Santos presented filmmaker Johnny Ventimiglia the Best Short Film award for Brookylino.

Rio and Irene are both thankful and honored to host the event, both expressing their gratitude to Geoffrey Guerrero, founder of Katra Film Series. The two actors have collaborated on a number of projects, most recently the short film Entanglement, produced by Anthony Dionisio (I Like To Play With Toys" Productions®) soon to tour the film festival circuit.
