SAN ANTONIO - s4story -- Nurses are a lifeblood of our community. Words do not begin to describe how thankful we are for their sacrifices over the past year. They should be honored. The Express-News has a program, Salute to Nurses, that has honored nurses over the years. This year we have restructured the program to make sure that we celebrate and honor your humble health warriors in the best way possible.

They have cared for so many of us when we were at our most vulnerable. We know there are great stories of sacrifice during the fight against COVID-19 and we are beyond grateful for the sacrifices they have made for our community. We thank you.

A panel of experienced judges will vote May 17-21.

Be sure to nominate during National Nurses Appreciation Week in May,
and the winners of our program will be honored within a special section date of June 6 and a virtual event, date to follow.
