Santa Turns to Kickstarter for The Christmas Eve Journey
S For Story/10389284
Even Santa Claus needs some help every now and then. Especially when trying to get a new book out around the world. This year, Santa wants to begin a new tradition at Christmas. So he is seeking additional elves to assist him in doing just that.
MARYVILLE, Tenn. - s4story -- As a sixteen year professional Santa Claus and an international, multi-award-winning author, "Santa" Joe Moore is intimately familiar with the famous poem by Clement C. Moore, "A Visit with St. Nicholas." Moore often wondered why Santa Claus had never developed his own version of what took place that night (and in countless visits since).
So "Santa Joe," as he is known, remedied this oversight by producing his fifteenth book, The Christmas Eve Journey. It is already successful, claiming top honors in the Holiday category from the American Fiction Awards. Mary Moore, his talented wife, and illustrator, who is known for her artistry with the Santa's Elf Series©, did the corner-to-corner artwork for this visually stunning book.

The book is meant to complement and enhance the original poem, rather than compete against it. It is the story as told from Santa Claus' point of view, instead of the dad's. The book is the same length, cadence, and rhythm of the original, making it enjoyable to read both books together and in either order.
Moore has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to cover the costs for art shows and a new CD/MP3 file he plans to have distributed around the U.S. and beyond. Moore said, "After having fifteen published books, I learned that all the writing, editing, cover designs, formatting, file uploads, printing, and revisions was the easy part."
Moore stated the real challenge is getting his books into the hands of readers around the country. He said he discovered that he and his wife could exhibit in multiple Arts & Crafts shows and meet tens of thousands of people. In 2018, this strategy resulted in selling thousands of books over the year, putting hundreds of books in homes with each show they attended. The Moore's have produced the books, but now need funds to cover the show costs including booth fees, additional inventory, lodging, and other expenses.

Besides the hardcover print book, Moore produced a professional audio version of him reading the book as Santa. He is employing Daystar Productions, LLC, a music firm in Knoxville, to distribute the audio to stations like SiriusXM, YouTube, iTunes, Spotify, etc. and local Children's or Christmas format radio stations around the globe. He hopes the Kickstarter funding will also help cover the costs of distribution.
