SEM Link Enters 21st Year with New Programs and Fundraising Events
S For Story/10699316
ATLANTA - s4story -- On August 1, SEM Link began its 2026–27 fiscal year, marking its 21st year of serving Metro Atlanta youth through hands-on STEM programming.
The new fiscal year resumes SEM Link's standard programs, including STEM at the Library, held in partnership with Fulton County Public Library, and the seventh cohort of its STEM Journal Club. SEM Link also continues its traditional fundraising efforts, including its participation in Give 8/28 Day, a day of giving for Black-led and Black-benefiting nonprofit organizations hosted by The Young, Black and Giving Back Institute.
In this new fiscal year, SEM Link's Experimental Design Program will be renamed the STEM Literacy and Research Program to better reflect its work. The program supports young STEM researchers through STEM fair judging, the STEM Journal Club. It also encompasses SEM Link's STEM Literacy Program, including book donations to community spaces, STEM Literacy for young learners, STEM literacy workshops, and its new STEM literacy workshop series for teens, Ink & Innovation.
SEM Link's Community STEM program will host more STEM at the Park workshops, which engage youth in "field" experiences that expose them to earth and environmental science. The organization will also host more special events including those showing the connection between STEM and sports such as its STEM Meets Mini-Golf event on Saturday, August 29, at Swing ATL. Community members can stay up to date and sign up for programs by following SEM Link's Eventbrite Page (https://bit.ly/SEMLinkonEventbrite).

In addition to new program events, SEM Link will host two new fundraising events this year. Its Swing for STEM Golf Clinic Fundraiser will take place on Sunday, August 30, at Chapel Hills Golf Course, with tickets available for purchase online at https://bit.ly/SEMLinkGolfClinic . In the spring, SEM Link will host its inaugural Garden Party Fundraiser.
"Every new program and event we launch this year comes back to one goal: engaging youth in hands-on STEM activities and providing them with positive adult role models in STEM. None of that happens without our community, our volunteers, our partners and our funders and donors who invest in our mission." said Tokiwa T. Smith Founder and Executive Director of SEM Link.
