Founder of the CDMA Business Model® Honored for Achievement, Leadership, and Community Impact at New York County Supreme Court
WASHINGTON, Md. - s4story -- ShaNette Carpenter, founder of the CDMA Business Model® and a nationally recognized workforce development leader, was recognized at the 2026 NYC Her Future TrailblazHER Awards in the "I Am Her" category at the New York County Supreme Court.
Presented by NYC Her Future in collaboration with the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development and the New York City Mayor's Office, the recognition marked a powerful close to Women's History Month and celebrated women making meaningful impact across New York City.
ShaNette's certificate recognized her for remarkable achievement, leadership, and dedication to creating meaningful impact in the community.
"Legacy doesn't wait to be acknowledged. It continues to move."
-ShaNette
ShaNette's recognition reflects a legacy more than 100 years in the making. That legacy includes a great-grandmother who operated an employment agency and a business school during a defining era of Black enterprise, education, and resilience. That family history is preserved at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, part of The New York Public Library.

The Evidence-Based CTE Ecosystem™ is powered by the CDMA Business Model® a legacy-rooted, evidence-based framework for building real-world, education-to-industry pathways. Through the CDMA Business Model Academy of Greater Washington, the CDMA Business Model Foundation, and the CDMA Business Model Creative Innovation Media Hub, the ecosystem connects learners to implementation, visibility, and long-term opportunity.
ShaNette has carried that legacy forward through the CDMA Business Model®, a licensed, evidence-based experiential learning system designed to create career-connected outcomes for youth across education, community, and workforce environments. First implemented in New York City public Career & Technical Education settings and later expanded across Washington, DC, the model has helped shape pathways for young people in media, authorship, civic leadership, and college and career readiness.
The recognition capped a Women's History Month that also included ShaNette serving as a mentor at SXSW EDU 2026, further elevating her national visibility at the intersection of education, workforce innovation, and legacy-centered leadership.
