Spokane: Flags To Be Lowered for Memorial Day

S For Story/10660428
~ Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown has issued a directive for all City facilities to lower their flags to half-staff on Monday, May 26 in honor of Memorial Day. This decision aligns with Governor Bob Ferguson's order for state and U.S. flags at all state agency facilities to also be lowered on this day.

The annual observance of Memorial Day falls on the last Monday of May and serves as a tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the armed forces. In light of this, Erin Hut, Communications Director for Spokane, encourages individuals and businesses with flags outside their homes or establishments to join in this recognition.
