Virtual Symposium to demonstrate advancements in aerospace and its impact on the lubricants industry
PARK RIDGE, Ill. - s4story -- The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) — the premier technical society serving the needs of the tribology and lubrication engineering business sector — is hosting a Virtual Symposium on Tribology in Aerospace Applications, July 29-30, 2025, from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. CT.
This symposium, "Application of Tribology in Astronautics," addresses the critical role of tribology in enabling and sustaining space missions. While the majority of tribological applications are grounded in terrestrial environments, space presents the harshest operational conditions imaginable. This gathering of experts will explore the broad spectrum of aerospace tribology applications, encompassing design methodologies, material selection, lubrication strategies and qualification procedures.
"This virtual symposium is a truly forward‑looking event," said Rebecca Lintow, CAE, STLE executive director. "By convening thought leaders across government labs, industry and academia, we're not only addressing the unique challenges of space lubrication and wear—but also translating those insights to improve performance, reliability and sustainability across sectors."
