Suncoast Teen Center under construction at Boys & Girls Clubs' Park Meadows Community Club
S For Story/10683560
FORT MYERS, Fla. - s4story -- Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County recently broke ground on its Teen Center at Park Meadows Community Club, allowing the club to expand its programs for teens.
The Teen Center, sponsored by Suncoast Credit Union Foundation, will create a space for older club members to collaborate with other teens, participate in after-school programs and summer camps, and prepare for their futures after high school. The Park Meadows club will offer college and career readiness programs through the new 2,600-square-foot Teen Center.
"Starting construction on the Teen Center marks a new chapter for Park Meadows Community Club," said Denise Gergley, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County. "Supporting a bright future for the kids in our community isn't possible without Suncoast Credit Union Foundation's generous partnership."
Suncoast provided a $300,000 donation to fund the Teen Center through the nonprofit's Park Meadows Capital Campaign.
"It's an honor to support the addition of a Teen Center at Park Meadows Community Club," said Jeffrey Kunberger, executive director of the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation and a member of the Board of Directors at Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County. "Teens in our community will soon have ample resources to jumpstart their futures, whether that be through higher education or career opportunities, thanks to the great work of Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County."

The addition of a Teen Center, which is being built by Seagate Development and is expected to open in mid 2026, follows a multi-year renovation of the Park Meadows Community Club. The club features kid-centric amenities like the creative corner, academic center, game room, culinary center, innovation hub and other interactive gathering spaces.
Suncoast Credit Union, Florida's largest credit union, founded the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation to promote the education, health and emotional well-being of children in the community. Each time a Suncoast member uses their debit or credit card, the credit union donates four cents to the Foundation to fund local initiatives. Since its inception in 1990, the Foundation has raised and donated over $55 million.
