The site provides Florida-specific guidance on Citizens Insurance alternatives, wind mitigation discounts, hurricane deductible calculations, and options for homeowners who have been dropped or non-renewed by their carrier.

"Florida homeowners are being dropped by their insurers and hit with 40% rate increases, left to figure out a complicated market on their own," said a spokesperson for Sunshine State Insured. "Our goal is to give them clear, accurate information and connect them with licensed specialists who can actually help."

Florida homeowners now pay an average of $3,600 to $5,000 per year for home insurance, nearly three times the national average. Since 2020, more than a dozen carriers have exited the Florida market, and Citizens Property Insurance now covers more than 1.3 million policies, more than double its count four years ago.
