First-of-its-Kind Mobile Game Turns Water Safety Into a Global Adventure for Youth, Featuring Cultural Storytelling and Life-Saving Skills
INGLEWOOD, Calif. - s4story -- LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA — Swim Up Hill Games, the innovation-driven gaming division of Swim Up Hill Companies, has officially released the limited beta version of its first mobile title, Swim Up Hill, on the App Store. Developed in partnership with Trash Studios, the game blends high-energy runner-style gameplay with water safety education, global exploration, and culturally responsive storytelling to reach youth where they are—on their phones.
The beta release marks a major step toward the foundation's goal of reaching millions of youth worldwide with engaging, life-saving swim education. Players dive into a dynamic experience that merges fast-paced action with meaningful content: navigating real-world cityscapes, unlocking diverse heroes, and absorbing water safety tips through billboards, cars, loading screens, and interactive books—all designed to make learning immersive and fun.

"This is more than a game—we built a movement," said Jamal Hill, Paralympic medalist and Co-Owner of Swim Up Hill Games. "Swim Up Hill makes safety fun, makes learning cultural, and brings life-saving education to kids wherever they are."
Isaiah Butler, Co-Owner of Swim Up Hill Games, added, "This is about more than pixels on a screen. It's about putting the power of representation and education in the hands of young people everywhere."
The game has already activated classroom and youth network testers across the U.S. as part of its peer feedback and data collection phase. Features include a multilingual leaderboard network, digital books like Sammy Swims, and in-game ads aligned with global water safety messaging. With a three-phase rollout planned through spring 2026, the project will also be featured at upcoming educational and aquatic safety conferences. A full global release is anticipated next year.
The beta is part of Swim Up Hill's "All Roads Lead to LA28" campaign—leveraging digital innovation to inspire and protect the next generation ahead of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
