S For Story/10704906
Thirty-five-year hospitality finance career includes 12 years with Marriott International, and a decade as CFO at Long Cove Club
WAYNESBORO, Va. - s4story -- Taylor Hospitality today announced the appointment of Matthew "Matt" Ramsey as Senior Director of Finance, effective Oct. 8. Ramsey brings 35 years of hospitality accounting and finance leadership to the role, including 12 years with Marriott International, where he served as Director of Finance at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis and held finance leadership positions at Marriott hotels and resorts across multiple markets.
Ramsey will report to Debbie Knick, Vice President of Finance, and will serve as her second-in-command across the company's hotel, resort, and club portfolio. He will lead day-to-day financial operations, owner reporting, budgeting, and capital planning for managed properties, and will work directly with property leadership and ownership groups.
"Matt spent more than a decade inside the Marriott system learning how a world-class operator develops finance and Reporting systems and he has spent the two decades since applying that discipline to hotels, resorts, and private clubs," said Sean Taylor, Founder and CEO of Taylor Hospitality and Up To Par Management. "Our owners expect institutional-grade financial reporting from a company that still answers the phone. Matt gives us both."

Ramsey began his career with Marriott Hotels & Resorts in 1991 and spent 12 years in finance leadership roles across the Marriott International portfolio, including Director of Finance at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, one of the largest convention hotels in the Southeast.
He later served as Controller of Daufuskie Island Resort & Spa and as Director of Finance for Montage at Palmetto Bluff, where he led finances for five operating entities and delivered the property's most profitable year, the same year it earned AAA Five Diamond status.
From 2012 to 2026, Ramsey was Chief Financial Officer of Long Cove Club in Hilton Head, S.C., where he oversaw a $6.4 million clubhouse renovation, led a $3.2 million hurricane recovery, and maintained clean audits throughout. He most recently served as Controller of Hay Harbor Club on Fishers Island, N.Y.
"Hotel finance is a specialty, and Matt has done it at every scale, for institutional clients to individual owners. His vast Financial acumen includes every aspect of hospitality and how to tell me in addition to private and public clubs," said Debbie Knick, Vice President of Finance. "He knows what ownership groups need to see and when they need to see it. That makes every property in our portfolio stronger on day one."
Ramsey holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Elon University.
