"Tracing the Path", a 20th Century Audio program wins Best History Podcast
MT. JULIET, Tenn. - s4story -- Mt. Juliet based podcast, Tracing the Path, took home the golden trophy Friday Night at the NYC Podcast Awards for Best History Podcast.
Tracing the Path is a 20th Century History audio program that focuses on the hidden connections between the most famous people, places, products, and events that shaped the 20th Century.
Dan R Morris, the host of Tracing the Path started the show partially in tribute to his favorite radio announcer, Paul Harvey. "There is something magical about audio that the youth of today largely miss out on since the advent of YouTube, TikTok and Snapchat. Listening to a story and then building the visuals in your mind is an experience I wanted my kids to love."
Episodes range from 22 to 45 minutes and come out every month online and in newsletter form by mail. And unlike traditional history podcasts and documentaries, Tracing The Path stories are told in story format. It's more of a journey than connected facts.
The show has been championed by Crayola, Ripley's Believe it or Not, Rico's, Route Magazine and the creators of the Oregon Trail Game. The podcast is scheduled to be featured on National Geographic StoryMaps in June and at the Tribecca Film Festival.
