"The Bridge to Magic" wins the Reader Views Grand Prize Silver Award in Fiction
S For Story/10578809
This magnificent high-fantasy debut by Alex Thornbury earns one of the top prizes in the Annual Reader Views Literary Awards program.
AUSTIN, Texas - s4story -- Reader Views announces The Bridge to Magic by Alex Thornbury as one of the overall grand prize winners in fiction, taking home the silver award, an award honored with a cash prize and special marketing promotions.
Magic was banished to the Deadlands since the Sundering War over 600 years ago. Everyone's heard the stories and fears magic and the bridge to magic. With the Blight approaching, threatening the existence of humanity, many are choosing to cross the bridge. But is it a bridge to suicide or a path to a better life? With fear and trepidation heightening, the people of Terren seek to purge every echo of magic from the world, believing it to be the only way to stop the Blight. When Elika, a teen orphaned years ago discovers the magic inside her, she worries this is all somehow her fault. Faced with dismal choices, does she destroy the magic inside her or cross the bridge where her fate remains uncertain?

Sheri Hoyte with Reader Views said of the story, "The Bridge to Magic is absolutely mesmerizing. Thornbury has a knack for telling dark stories and from the well-drawn characters to the meticulously drawn settings, it's clear Thornbury's words have authority. I could not put this book down."
"Thank you so much for reading and enjoying my book. I am thrilled to receive this award and would like to thank Reader Views for the opportunity and their consideration. For twelve years, I have been endlessly writing and rewriting multiple manuscripts, never ready to cross that bridge to my own dreams, to becoming a published author. This award made all those years worthwhile."– Alex Thornbury
The Bridge to Magic (ISBN: 978-0645497007, Shadow Lore Publishing, 2022) is available at online bookstores everywhere.
Alex Thornbury is an award-winning author. She grew up in Cheshire UK, and developed a deep love of history and fantasy thanks to the many castles she visited as a child. Though she grew up to be an Alchemist by trade, she never stopped fantasizing about other worlds, dragons and epic battles. She has abandoned her Alchemy and potion making career, and is now a full-time author of high fantasy. Three of her books are to be released in 2023. Learn more at https://alexthornbury.com/.
