AMARILLO, Texas - s4story -- The Hope and Healing Place invites the community to join in one of Amarillo's favorite traditions—The Big Cheese. The ultimate mac-n-cheese cook-off will take place on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 6–8 p.m. at the Rex Baxter Building at the Tri-State Fairgrounds.
For more than a decade, The Big Cheese has brought together restaurants, teams, and families for a night of delicious competition and community spirit—all in support of children, families, and individuals who are grieving served by The Hope and Healing Place.
EVENT DETAILS
This event is designed with families in mind. Along with free tickets for kids 13 and under and endless mac-n-cheese samples, families can enjoy a special Kids Korner featuring Story Bridge and a pumpkin patch with fall fun for the little ones - there will be lots of things to keep the kids busy in between bites.

Local restaurants, businesses, and community teams are encouraged to sign up and showcase their best mac-n-cheese creations. Every entry adds flavor, fun, and support for the mission of The Hope and Healing Place. More than 20 teams are already signed up, with space for a few more to join the fun.
